The Alley Cats

Sept. 3 @ 7:30 p.m.

This popular group delivers a high-energy performance that combines the classic Doo Wop hits of the 1950s and '60s with comedy and engaging showmanship. Known for their tight vocal harmonies and interactive style, the group returns to the Muckenthaler stage, where they've built an appreciative audience, to perform America's most beloved vintage tracks. 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Muckenthaler Cultural Center.

Ballet X

Sept. 4 @ 7:30 p.m.

Philadelphia’s premier contemporary ballet combines artistic innovation with technical excellence to forge new works of athleticism, emotion and grace. With a versatile and diverse ensemble of 16 dancers, Ballet X has been cited as “among America’s best” by The New York Times. 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at the Musco Center for the Arts.

Rhapsody in Taps, The First 35 Years!

Sept. 1 & 8, Oct. 13 & 27 @ 6 p.m.

A four-part documentary featureing Linda Sohl-Ellison, founder of Rhapsody in Taps, will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Cal State Long Beach. It chronicles the rich history of the tap scene in Southern California. According to the documentary makers: "Sohl-Ellison, is one of a handful of tap dancers who changed the trajectory of tap dance beginning in the early 1980’s -- creating a concert aesthetic and framework, and influencing tap dance both in the United States and internationally."
