This is the last week to see this photography show in Huntington Beach. From their website: "Observations highlights patriotism and service, as well as the healing power of creative expression and community networks." On display at the Huntington Beach Arts Center through Aug. 22.

'Remember the Ladies'

Aug. 23 @ 2 p.m.

This one-woman show blends live theater, authentic historical writings and music. It will tell the stories of the women of the American Revolution, including Abigail Adams, Martha Washington, Mercy Otis Warren and Phillis Wheatley. Created and performed by retired opera singer Kira Bartoli-Lemon and inspired by Adams’ famous 1776 plea to her husband John Adams to "remember the ladies." Admission is free; advance reservations are strongly encouraged.  2 p.m. at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum in Yorba Linda.

The Lexie Shehab Quartet

Aug. 21 @ 6:30 p.m.

The 2026 Orange County Artist of the Year for Vocal Music, National YoungArts Winner in Jazz Voice, and DownBeat Magazine’s Outstanding Jazz Vocal Soloist for Performing Arts High Schools, 16-year-old Lexie Shehab is an exciting new jazz artist. Her voice is both soulful and fresh. She performs this week at the The Sanctuary Studio for the Arts & Humanities at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 21.
