Local arts leaders sit down with Culture OC publisher Paul Hodgins to share their thoughts on issues, plans and challenges facing Orange County arts organizations.

April is Arts, Culture & Creativity Month in California. It’s a 30-day celebration of the arts in our state and a spotlight designed to raise visibility and awareness about California’s cultural sector, empower arts advocates to take action, and spur greater investments in our industry and workforce. It’s sponsored by California for the Arts, a statewide, multidisciplinary nonprofit organization that acts as an advocacy network for artists and cultural workers in California.
This year marks the eighth annual ACCM. Centered on the theme of “Boundless Culture & Creativity” and the sub-theme of “Building Joy, Action + Power,” the monthlong initiative encompasses media campaigns, community programming and statewide advocacy to celebrate the indispensable role of arts and culture in California life.
To mark the occasion, Culture OC, in collaboration with Arts Orange County and PBS SoCal, has produced a 30-minute panel discussion about some of the most important issues facing the arts in Orange County. Host Paul Hodgins, Culture OC’s co-founder and publisher, is joined by four distinguished panelists: Patrick Brien, president and CEO of Arts Orange County; John Forsyte, president and CEO of Pacific Symphony; David Ivers, artistic director of South Coast Repertory; and Genevieve Williams, founder of GW Contemporary, a gallery in Laguna Beach.
