Theresa Walker is a Southern California journalist who grew up in the Los Angeles area and still lives in the region. A graduate of El Camino Community College and Cal State Dominguez Hills, she worked over the course of four decades as a reporter -- and sometimes editor -- for local publications. Her professional career started at the weekly Gardena Valley News, included a couple of years as a trainee at the Los Angeles Times and then a half-dozen as a general assignment reporter at the San Bernardino County Sun. She retired from daily journalism in 2021, ending a 29-year stint mostly covering social issues and writing news feature stories, and sometimes just fun stuff, at the Orange County Register.
