Peter Lefevre is a Southern California-based journalist and playwright whose articles have appeared in Voice of OC, The Orange County Register, Opera News, the Los Angeles Business Journal, Men’s Fitness magazine, and Performing Arts magazine, among others. His reporting has been honored by the Los Angeles Press Club, the Orange County Press Club, and at the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism awards. His short film “Ten Essentials” was an Official Selection at more than 20 film festivals worldwide and was named Best Drama at the 2022 Canada Shorts Film Fest, Best Screenplay at the 2022 Short to the Point Film Fest and received the Grand Jury Award at the 2022 New York Film Academy shorts festival. His plays include “Helen is Quitting” (Sacred Fools Theater), “Blurt” and “Worm Moon” (Padua Hills Playwrights Workshop), “A Wasted Evening with Tom Lehrer” (TACIT Theater), and “If You Can’t Say Something Nice” and “The Fisherman and the Genii” (SCR Playwrights Workshop). He was an NEA arts journalism fellow at Columbia University, and studied film and theater at UCSB and CalArts. Currently, he writes program notes for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and teaches a course on mythology at California State University, Dominguez Hills.
