Melia Franks

Melia Franks is a political science and journalism double major with a specialization in legal studies at Cal State Long Beach. She is passionate about telling stories that inspire change, shed light on critical issues, and amplify underrepresented voices. At DIG Magazine, she developed and produced compelling stories centered on Long Beach’s creative communities, reporting on musicians, artists, faculty experts, therapists, and other innovative local voices. While particularly drawn to the softer side of journalism through arts, travel, and culture reporting, Franks remains dedicated to using journalism as a platform to elevate marginalized perspectives, challenge injustice, and create a lasting impact.
